HaptICS – Haptical Interface Communication System

Matrix 5c

Development of haptically supported input/output devices for the mulitmedia interface of a vehicle cockpit

The aim was to develop a system for dealing with abstract, haptic key stimuli and to develop technical implementations in an assumed car cockpit situation. Traffic situations should be easier to manage through implementation in terms of safety, complexity reduction and driving comfort. Both in the elaboration of the system and in the development of the hardware components, a modular and scalable concept was implemented that can be projected into different operating situations with minor changes. With the industrial partner, the necessary foundations for series production could be created.
